About My Process

Everything I see becomes a potential painting, for which I am grateful.
Nature is of vital importance to me. It is my muse.
I capture the essence of my content, often enhancing some elements while diminishing others.
Initial attraction to my paintings may be strong, but the details noticed by the viewer increase over time.
Each painting is a sliver of time, captured by my eye, processed by my mind, created by my hand and therefore unique by definition.
I paint alla prima (wet on wet); the technique of adding wet layers over wet layers.
I work from a limited palette, mixing neutrals as much as possible.
Paintings are sealed with a protective conservation coating.
