"Smell the Rain"; the process.

"Smell the Rain" is a large oil on gallery depth canvas, 3 x 4 ft.

I begin by sketching with ultramarine blue, the dominant color.

This is the "first pass". I simply lay down the main components.

Second session, I begin to texture and develop value layers.

Third session continues to build on the second, adding a bit more color.

I used six 37 ml of utramarine blue for this painting.

Forth and final session. I lay in details; light, texture, plants and rocks.

This is the longest session by far.
